When homesickness hits…

Spring in Germany

Everybody knows I don‘t like winter, especially not in Germany. But in spring, if I‘m not home, I get gripped by a different type of homesickness. An acute awareness of all the familiar beauty I‘m missing out on.
I just got scans back from a roll of film that was sitting on my shelf for three years - it made the move to the US with me and was part of the batch of film rolls that get developed whenever I have a little bit of money left for developing.
Though I often wonder about the usefulness of taking an absurd amount of photos of flowers and nature over and over again - today I‘m thankful that I took this batch of photos for myself. And I‘ll continue to do it for my future self.
